Horse and Crow

I posted some time ago, that I had made a paper art sculpture of a horse. This piece is life-sized and is a yearling with a young crow hanging on its mane. Both are unhappy about this. I have had a professional pic of this done but couldn't get the negative or original pic so I am showing you my own pics of the duo. I could scarcely get it all in the pic so you'll just have to follow the pic puzzle, bad lighting and all. You can just imagine having this in your dining room.

What a wonderful piece of art, and sculpture...where is it's permanent location ??
I bet it took months to finish, it is truly a one of a kind creation...what a great talent you have.

Wow, a beautiful piece of art, I've never seen anything like this. I'm curious about your inspiration - did you model it after a horse you've seen, or was it "freestyle?"

My gosh girl, but you are an amazing talent!!! Words are escaping me, if you can believe that. This is truly a work of art and you are missing your calling. You know I am not always speechless (oh let's face it...never) but I really don't know what to say except unbelievable!

Jo, its permanent location is in my dining room as it's too big to go anywhere else. Joanne, it came out of my head and Deb, thank you very much. I said I only like making life-sized paper sculpture, but as a result, it takes up a lot of space. This horse took about 6 months to make start to finish, but not 8 hour days or anything.

This is the most fabulous thing! How I would love to have something like that, even though I hardly have room for another book! You are incredible--what a talent.

Donna... thanks so much for stopping by French Lique and commenting on my garden harvest... When you mentioned freezing tomatoes whole... I had to run to the kitchen, open the freezer and take a photo of my 16 tomatoes sitting there frozen solid... I'm out of freezer bags today, so I'm off to the store for friday grocery shopping with the bags on my list! I was surprized how many people freeze tomatoes that way, but they keep just fine, and it's so much easier than canning!

I hope you'll drop by again. You'll find I've got roots in Arkansas too... and it's my favorite state to visit for vacation... we make a treck to the Hot Springs area annually... blessings. Dixie

ps... I love your horse and crow... I'll be back later to read more of your fantastic blog!
