TOPIARY

Well, I was feeling kind of smug this summer. I have numerous topiary birds around the farm, some potted and some in the ground. Turkeys, ducks, chickens and various exotic birds make me smile.
That is, until I saw THESE!

Oh no! Not fair! No plastic beaks and feet!

And water fountains? Ha!

Deserts and Bedouins?

Steam for the teacups?

Don't you just hate showoffs? By the way, the Montreal Gardens must have heard about me.

When I was a little girl in England, my Grandmother had a neighbor that did amazing topiaries. Well maybe they were amazing because I was so young but I remember he had all kinds of animals and his hedges were trimmed into big chairs.
I didn't mean to ramble, I was having a flashback! LOL
I think your birds are adorable.

I like yours way better! I tried it once but it ended up looking like roadkill.

Lovin' your chikens! Those other ones almost scare me. What a daunting task to be in charge of trimming the topes! Eegads...one wrong snip and the flying mallard turns into a flying saucer. ~Shiver~

Hi Donna... thanks for stopping by French Lique and visiting, and for leaving your kind comments. It always means a lot when someone "gets me"...

I love the things you share on your blog. (wish I had some of those chicks!)... I do have to admit that when I write something really personal (such as the Dallas Rain post), I write it... read it... edit it... read it again... hold my breath and hit the publish button. Tonight I thought... "why did I write that... no one cares about that"... you made me smile.

hugs. Dixie

This is my first visit to your blog and I found it to be lovely! I'll mosey back in now that I know it's here.

Did you ever live in Ada, OK?
