Go Green

Do you have a stack or two of old painted shelves lying about? I've got a million projects I'll finish someday. One of those projects was to recycle one of said painted shelves. I simply did a reverse scratching on the paint and came up with different countries and continents. This shelf is above my bed and hopefully fills my head with exotic locales and dreams that rarely come.

Super idea. I've got a few random shelves in the cellar.

Donna -

Good news - I have an answer to your query you left on my blog. My Belgian Antiques Diva Guide found some information for you on the German Playing Cards listed on your Etsy site. They are in fact, Austrian and the company is called Ferd. Piatnik (not Platnik, as in the description behind your link). They are located in Vienna (Wien), founded in 1824, and still exists today! They are the only playing card manufacturers in Austria. These specific cards can be dated between 1882 and 1885.

GREAT FIND!!! A TRUE TREASURE!!! You SHOULD SO BLOG ABOUT THEM! It's a fascinating story!

Yours,
Toma
