610Stompers

These guys are everyman - doctors, lawyers, garbage collectors, stomping their way into our hearts.  I think they are hysterical.  With their gold lame sneakers, knee socks and shorts and the headbands, they've got the 80's vibe down perfect.
Starting out as krewe members for Mardi Gras, they now march in parades and entertain the masses, and it's all for charity.
Go to 610Stompers.com to see their hilarious schtick.  They are performing again in this year's Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.  Dancing to 80's tunes and more; they even have a dance to Bruno Mar's Uptown Funk.  I couldn't quit smiling at their version of an Irish Riverdance.  I can't wait to shop on their website.

Sorry about the commercial at the start.  And, be sure to watch it full screen.

They are hysterical. And those pure poly shorts. That's exactly how polyester jump suits fit! Still laughing.

Oh Joanne, glad to know we have the same sense of humor. I grin from ear to ear watching them, their moves and facial antics. And to top it off, the charities they give to are as long as your arm. Pure joy.

Oh Cindy, the pleasure is all mine. Poor baby. So glad you found this and had a laugh today. Perhaps, hubby too may find it amusing? Sending you a group hug from everyone out there.

Me too Monique. I hope they know they brought joy to someone whom desperately needed it today.

Donna, this video did make me smile, and then I realized that I've probably "almost seen" them in Thanksgiving Day parades. I usually try to get up early enough on Thanksgiving Day to make my way over a few blocks to stand outside the Dakota on 72nd St and try to see something...usually just the balloons and the faces of folks around me who've also chosen to take their chances to see the parade in person. (If you go over to my site and back up to a few past Novembers, you'll see my reports. No close up views of the dancing stompers will appear.

Perhaps this year.

Crab apple jelly is also one of my childhood memories. You are lucky to have access to your very own crab apples, with the potential of creating homemade jelly.

Frances, that is what I've decided to do with the crabapples. I am going to have a crop this year of wild plum also and will make jam with those.
