Rest Time?

Rest for the weary? No, I'm still kicking - at least for the moment.  What was supposed to be a time to finally breathe or catch my breath is not to be.  The house we sold didn't close yesterday.  I could hardly wait for the day after all the work, packing, cleaning and stress. A typo, or something like that, has caused a delay.  The buyer lives in California and has bought it as an investment property so papers have to be sent overnight then back, etc.

All utilities, etc. were to be disconnected today.  The insurance was to end today so I've been on the phone trying to re-instate it this morning.  There should be a way to fine the buyers for this.  At least for the pain and suffering it has caused.  They are now telling me maybe Friday.  Who buys a house half way across the country for an investment property?  The money from the sold house goes into the new house.  I can't stand the worrying, of course, worry is my middle name so one would think it would roll off me like water from a duck's back.  But oh no, the fates are going to make me pay for another few days.  Jeez!

Well you know we both have the same middle name..

How I was a realtor for almost 30 yrs is well quite unbelievable.
My husband always told everyone..that every home I sold..it was like I was the seller and every home my clinets bought as if I was the buyer.
I worried about all my clients.
Unfortunately hiccups happen ..more often than not.
Usually ..ALWAYS:)..these time delays get resolved and we are even happier.
So many different circumstances affect closing dates..
the smooth ones are the gifts..
Kudos..bravo.. perfect pic:)
Breathe in..breathe out..;)
And let us know..

you want me to call them?;)

Oh, you make me smile Monique. How on earth were you able to go through that for 30 years? Superwoman must be what you are made of. It is all too stressful for me. I was trying to get my daughter to get her realtor's license for some extra income, but now I think better of it. Being a single, working mother, I don't think she needs the added stress to her life. Oh well, such is life.

Commiserations Donna - selling a house is always a stressful time. Hope by this time next week it is all done and dusted.

I hope the house sale goes through in a timely fashion for you Donna, it has to be one of the most nerve-wracking transactions....
Hang in there lady, the dust will soon be settled.

I so commiserate, Donna. I was in this house for three months and paying two mortgages before my buyers "contingent on the sale of their home" materialized. Selling and buying stinks.

Thinking of you my dear and hoping so much that it all works out very quickly. Frustration, and the stress it causes, is not good for you at this time. Patience is definitely a virtue, and the thought of the good days to come when you and hubby can sit quietly and just enjoy the moment are not far off I'm sure.
If only we could relax like the animals - what a cutie!

Hang in the there -
Hugs - Mary

Just look at it as what IS meant to be, the path we are on has bumps and twisting avenues though all leads US to where WE should be in the end no matter how hard we try to make something not meant to be, BE! Timing is always a hidden miracle, revealing itself only later. GATHER your frustration and leave IT behind with the old house...go forth to newer horizons with renewed HOPE...for its all WE have in the end.

I'm sorry you've hit a snag. Everything will work out!

It is Jo and for a person like me, I guess I should be happy my head hasn't exploded.

It does Joanne. Could you imagine doing this for a living? My hair would turn white overnight.

It all just seemed to happen all at once. The first house sold, then all the packing etc. Then, my daughter-in-law said let's go to this open house today and wham! Guess that's why it has been so hard. I like to do things at my leisure, not hurriedly, but my family has been trying to calm me down. Oh well... Thank you for your good will.

Well said Swan. As always.

Thank you Elaine. I think I could drive to LA and get the papers signed faster than the title company.

That's what my family keeps telling me. Hope you are healing too as I know as the season changes your memories will come anew.

Thank you so Debbie. He's on another course of antibiotics and still awaiting a feeding tube. I think it's going to take a long time for his recovery, but we'll get through it.
