It Doesn't Fit

Here is an example of something that isn't a fit in the new house.  I've had this for many a moon.  The upper part is from an old store display - a large drawer diorama with a glass front.

Underneath is an old cabinet made of cheese and fruit crates with little cubbies, sitting on an old library table.  I have always loved primitives; things made by hand and not mass produced.

But, it is going to have to find a new home.

I love those little apothecary type chests - so many little drawers to hide treasures in!

That is AMAZING Donna ..... I love the diorama and the little drawers with different handles..... I'm sure that you can find a little corner for it somewhere !! XXXX

I wouldn't part with it, I love Primitive style, and would find a spot for both of those gorgeous pieces in your new place..
So much character Donna, it would hurt me to part with such pieces.

I do too Amanda. Trouble is, I have too much stuff.

I loved it once too Jacqueline. It is really strange; I have all these white horse things I got way before Gracie came. Serendipity? I had planned on going minimalist or wanted to, but alas, it is just not magpie me. But with too many things, this tableaux is going to have to go to a new home.

It does Jo. Problem is, I still have so much left over from my antiquing days I just can't keep it all. I could probably furnish a Cracker Barrel restaurant. The time to part with things is nigh. Just have to let go of the things that hurt 'in the letting go' less than others.

Are you selling the farm to live permanently in the city?

I love it and wish I lived just down the road.

It's long overdue Elaine, but not right away. My husband won't sell it, yet it is impossible for us to take care of anymore. I'd like to live at the city house full time, but until I find a forever home for Gracie and Brownie - and I have 7 cats that I love. The city only allows three and mine are all outdoor cats. In the town where our farm is, no one wants a cat and I love them all. It will have to be solved before I can move there full time. I am trying though. The two 'certain' horse deals have both fallen through and I will not give them to just anyone.

I so wish you did too Pat, but it is too uncivilized here for you. Hope you are alright at your farm. I am still hearing the news about the weather in the northern UK. Did you mean the road in the diorama or the road from me. I am slow sometimes.

Thank you Monique. I just have so much stuff, I could probably furnish two Cracker Barrels. Yes, might keep the drawers for the studio.

Some very hard decisions ahead. I like the approach of letting go of the things which hurt least - and hope that they find someone else to love them as you did.

Yes Child, hard decisions. I want to be near my kids and grands and live the city life. Been in the boondocks since 1983 and I'm done. There are some things I'll always keep, but I have to let much of it go.
