OhOhOh

I have overindulged during the holidays.  It is the sweets that I cannot turn down.  No willpower whatsoever.  If the kids don't take this all home, it's going in the trash tomorrow.  It is the only way to keep it out of my mouth.  This piggy has a New Year's resolution.  No sugar/sweets.  Wish me luck.

Christmas Day was in the 70's and today, it is like a hurricane out and near freezing.  I don't ever think I've seen rains like this.  10 inches last I heard.  Winds gusting to 44 mph. Just wretched weather.  My weenies won't go outside it is so bad.

Besides overindulging, I have to tell you how the Christmas holidays started.  Not with all the presents that still needed wrapping and all the food to prepare, but with a fire truck outside the city house and a fireman banging on my door.  Me, standing naked as a jaybird, dripping wet from the shower, ADT on the line and the police calling too.  Damn smoke detectors with battery problems.  And, that was just the start.  I won't bore you with the rest, but I do hope the New Year brings us all better days.

FYI - we did have a good Christmas, were all together.  That was enough for me.  Didn't need any gifts; my family was gift enough.

I hope, after the firemen left, your holidays were happy! I've been reading your posts, but have failed to comment. I'll strive to do better in 2016!

Ack. With a start like that I suspect I would be mainlining chocolate. I hope Christmas improved dramatically.
Good luck with that resolution.

I look forward to hearing more from you Cindy. Hope 2016 brings all good things to you.

It was good Child. Just pocked with little calamities which is normal, I think. We were all together and the grands were so excited. I am looking forward to 2016.

Do hope you miss the very worst of the hurricanes. They look dreadful. Happy new year to you all.

Donna, It's good to hear that you did have all your family round, and could transcend the smoke detector drama. Welcome to the neighborhood, eh?
I know what you mean about sweets' temptation. Willpower does occasionally fail around here, too.
Definitely looking forward now to that New Year and its opportunities.
Thank you again for all your posts during 2015. xo

We've had so much rain, the house may soon float down the creek, along with everything else. I never have to worry about the dangerous leftovers, pies and cakes and sweets, etc. I just load it all up in a sack and hand it to my son.. to fill his fridge. Well, I am glad YOUR house did not burn down!

Me too. We had all of the smoke detectors down to change all of the batteries because they kept going off and had to get a lot of new batteries to fit them all. Some of the detectors are hard wired and I guess you can't leave them down. It was just unbelievable. Kids kept coming back for leftovers, but too many are left and out they go today. This rain is just unbelievable too. I hope it all veers north instead of heading east to you. Happy new year, Jeri.

Wow - your holidays started off with the proverbial bang!
I'm with you on realizing I've overindulged - currently backing away from the eggnog and fudge ;))

Oh dear Donna ..... not the start that you wanted for Christmas but I should think it gave you a good story to tell over dinner !!!!!
I tend to eat less over Christmas ..... I think it's because I do the cooking.
Wishing you and yours a very Happy 2016 ..... I hope it's everything you want it to be. XXXX

Been overindulging since Thanksgiving. Need to go the gruel route or bread and water.

That is the truth sometimes. It usually does taste better when someone else makes it, but there were just too many temptations for Christmas. I hope your new year is wonderful. I wanted to ask you this question... Isn't your son a singer or musician? Haven't heard about him in a long time.

Jaybird Monique. Don't know if that is a French saying (naked as a jaybird) or not. I was telling the police dispatch on the phone that I can't go to the door because I was naked and just out of the shower. Oh the things that seem to happen to me. Guess I should be glad the firemen didn't cleave the door down with an axe and walk in on me. That would definitely have done me in. My weenies were hysterically barking all the while. Glad I didn't have any tempting cheese or bread around or I would have eaten that too. Happiest New Year to you and yours Monique.

What an EXCITING start to the DAY!! You needed only the football helmet to fulfil that old joke about the lady doing laundry.

So glad the rest of your time was fun and wonderful. We're expecting the Third batch of our chillun in a few hours, and then a return of five on New Year's Eve to make a REAL houseful. It's lively and wonderful here, and if you could see the piles and Tups and boxes and bowls of SWEETS upstairs on the dresser, you'd swoon right away. We're packing up all the boxes of what's left to send home with them all on New Year's Day. Or it goes out to the birds and squirrels, including this last little gingerbread house.

Stay warm and KEWL, Faraway Friend.

Well, I'd rather not have to deal with that kind of excitement. It is going to be the death of me. Especially when it is one thing after another. It's gone except for a few pieces of peanut brittle that the grands will finish today. It sounds wonderful a your home. Snow is outside and a fly just flew past my face. How does that happen. Oh well, happy new year Rachel.

Glad all turned out well. We lost a family member just before the holidays making it a somber one. A hard time to lose family. But it makes you appreciate what you have and each and every precious moment we have together. Happy New Year to you and yours!
