Stay Or Go

Terrible picture but you get the picture.  This is one example of the dilemma I'm having over keeping or selling.  None of the items are of great worth nor do they have sentimental attachments.

This window is very large and though you can't tell from the photo, the primitive bench it sits upon is the same color. I had two of the windows at one time, but sold one.  I can't find a place for it in the city house.  Just an example of editing and downsizing and trying to figure out what stays or goes.

I told my kids to put their initials on what they wanted. The rest went.

I would have such a hard time deciding what to keep, and what to let go...
Beautiful primitive pieces, both would stay if left up to me :)
Hugs,

Never easy. They are both gorgeous pieces but... And my home is bursting at the seams.

ah, that window is gorgeous! I'm sure it's very heavy but it would be great up on the wall even in a slicker city space. But in fact, whatever you decide will be fine. It's not easy for gatherers like us, but it boils down to a lot of holding and letting go, I guess. You may have to change the name of your blog to "Distribute!" xox

It is a beautiful window Donna. The trouble with getting rid of things like this is the minute one has sold the item one finds just the right place it could have gone.

If you sell it, put mirror in it. You'll get twice as much. That's how they are sold here, anyway.

when we moved from the city to the country we moved to a bigger house so just about everything came but I did abandon a few things.

Good idea. Mine want little of it.

Big hug to you Jo. So happy you are finally home. Terrible ordeal, but I bet you feel like you're on cloud 9.

Yes, too much is my problem too. I'm starting to want minimal.

Oh that is funny Gesbi. Perfect.

Yes, Pat, I have to many things still to bring that aren't so large and fragile, so it will stay longer. I got two old globes down with a broom from a high shelf and broke both. Ay yay yay!

That is interesting Tom. I would hate it with mirror instead of the beautiful glass, but then I am not going to be the one to keep it.

They're flying out the window here Ellen. Come up here and shop next time. I have two other stained glass windows that would be perfect if the cat hadn't knocked them down and broken some pieces of glass.

The window..can't you hang it from the ceiling in front of a widow?:)
The DB..I would keep because of my initials.. well..yours and if I had to.. would store my art supplies or cooking paraphenalia:)
The bench? On a protected porch w/ ferns.
I think I just found a place for it all:)

The Window I would have had trouble parting with... but I know the dilemma, been there often and it's a continuous process of Editing and Culling when you are a Keeper of the Past and keep hunting for Lost and unappreciated Treasures. Dawn... The Bohemian

I would so love for you to have them Monique. The window is heavy and city windows it would not work. I have some beautiful large ones in farm windows that won't work in city either :( I fear the box is too fragile to use; just a sitter to look at. I have many of those primitive benches, so will have to edit some of them.

I have four more large, gorgeous windows from a church that actually open at the farm, but they won't go in the city house. Perfect phrase - I want a fellow Keeper of the Past to treasure them.
