A Toy Of My Own

Yep.  Got a toy today.  And, it really works.  It says so on the package.  Barnes and Noble wouldn't lie.

The grandchildren are out of school Monday and you know who is taking care of them.  We are going to build this toy of mine, then, I am going to terrorize them.  Just kidding, but I bet I do get a few bald faced lies out of them.

Would love to try it on my husband, but he knows better.

It looks like a HEAP of fun. And we don't leave enough room for fun in our lives do we? Enjoy it (and your grandchildren).

donna baker said...

Yes, Child. I just have to figure out how to ask questions with a yes or no answer, like, did you wipe that booger on my living room wall? I think I already know who did it Oliver.

The Weaver of Grass said...

Yes Donna - the grandchildren will love it and will no doubt think up some whopping lies to test it out.

Careful what you ask them. You may find out the truth...

Looks like a fun toy.I could use it sometime, especially when everyone says that phrase, It wasn't me.

Joanne Noragon said...

Will you spill the beans on them?

donna baker said...

It ought to be fun. I hope.

I couldn't hear anything worse than when they told me I look older than Poppa T, who is 4 years older than I am and lots of wrinkles which I have none. His hair is still dark and mine is very light so I am hoping that is why they think that. I was crushed.

donna baker said...

Oh yes, it never is.

Me? In my adult life I've been perfect; nothing to hide. Now, when I was a child, well... I named my design business, Wild Child Designs.

Now this looks like fun ! can you post on the results ?

I do not think the school children should be let out on this day.
Martin Luther King worked for the betterment of people, to me that means stay in school.
Make it a workday to clean up their school, plant trees and plants, a garden, paint benches.
Teach the little kids their numbers or letters. Have an art day, play games, sing songs have the band march around.
Anything to help the children to stay in school and like going there.
I think Martin Luther King would approve.

But really what the hell do I know.
cheers, parsnip

I will Gayle. They just got back in school for the holidays, then had snow days and now Monday off. I used to walk miles in the snow and rain...

donna baker said...

Oh it should be fun Monique. Can't wait to see their reactions.

Tom Stephenson said...

Typically insensitive children. Still, it could have been worse.

looks like a fun project to do with the kids.

donna baker said...

They like science and they have more fun at the farm hammering nails etc. than anything else. Well, maybe not as much fun as riding the ATV's and fishing, but hammering and tearing up things are right up there.

Donna, when I saw the photograph and began reading the post, I thought you might be tossing us a soft ball, in preparation for the upcoming inauguration. xo

The liar in chief lies so openly, I don't believe a thing that comes out of his mouth. I am afraid my little machine would explode. And that is the very, very truthful truth.

Prepare to be shocked! Hope you're going to give us feedback.

With my luck, Rosemary, now you have me wondering if we'll get a shock. I'll let you know how it goes.

This is hilarious! I want that toy... how on earth is that toy so clever?!!

donna baker said...

I thought I bought it at Barnes and Noble, but I remembered it was from Cracker Barrel. So go to your nearest one before they run out.

Jacqueline @ HOME said...

Haha Donna .... what a great purchase ... I think that we could all do with one of those !!! XXXX

donna baker said...

Well, I have the littles here today and no 9V battery and no double-sided tape. Wouldn't you know. It would be fun for parties, or maybe it wouldn't on second thought.

Sandra Cox said...

Ha. Ha. Too funny. Have fun:)

donna baker said...

I had to have it Sandra.

Amanda Summer said...

Haha! That's hilarious Donna - let us know if it works ;))

donna baker said...

I will Amanda. After I got into the package yesterday it required a 9V battery and double sided sticky tape. I'll get them.
