What A Week

Some things will never change.  Comforting in these times.  I won't bore you with all that happened last week, but when I saw a call on my phone from middle daughter, I thought, oh no, I hope she hasn't gone into labor.  All three of her children have been early, so not such a huge surprise, but the timing was off - for last week anyway.

Cady named the newest member of our family after herself.  I'm going to call her Little Cady for now.

Isobel and Oliver are very happy and will be a lot of help.

What I didn't mention is that there were many problems with this pregnancy.  The placenta was in a bad position and genetics tests were bad.  There was a one in 16 chance of Down's Syndrome and four other genetic abnormalities.  All is perfect, so our family is very happy with our new little bundle of joy.

Congratulations all around. Glad mom and babe are doing well. That must have been scary knowing the results of those tests and having to wait to see how it all turned out. Was it better when we were having babies before all that screening? -Jenn

Thank you Rosemary. You won't believe this, but I can't add anymore. The count is 3 girls and one boy, but there will be one more someday. Must be the fifth one will be a girl too. Last week was a doozy. This week all is calm so far. And, that is good.

Congratulations to you and your family!! What a sweet child❤ I was just thinking of you yesterday and wondering how things were going with your daughter's pregnancy. So happy for you!

donna baker said...

This is your first isn't it? You will fall in love all over again.

donna baker said...

Thank you Pat. They are at the trying to get her to nurse stage. Glad it's not me is the way I'm thinking ;)

donna baker said...

Monique, it is unbelievable how tiny they are. We decided there was nothing we could do about the baby but decided she would be a blessing however she came out. I will go visit the blog about Nella. Cady and the kids are very excited.

donna baker said...

Thank you Sarah. Other than trying to get her to nurse and no sleep, they are doing well.

donna baker said...

Isn't that funny Ry? It was a long pregnancy - the wait. The placenta problems prevented more testing, but she was coming our way regardless. We are blessed to have another little one.
