To Mail Or Not

I found these old envelopes and postcards from the seventies.  Thought I would put them in my booth, but I'd probably never see them again if I do that.

I try not to bring up politics, so if you love the Republican party - even with him at the helm -
just click off this post.  I think I mentioned my own husband and my daughter-in-law voted for him.  She was talking (this weekend) about how the mainstream media lied all the time.  I held my tongue, though I wanted to say, yeah, Fox News and the National Enquirer.

Anyway, I thought about sending one of these to the White House, signed by the ghost of Richard Nixon no less, to tell that man, he better get out while he can still hold his head up, though I know he wouldn't get it.

I don't even know if the Watergate Hotel still stands.  What would likeminded people write to that man?

That's funny about sending it to the white house.
And I liked the way you intro-ed with just click off this post. It wasn't rude and it gave a heads up.
I just don't get it. What is the draw of this administration?
I watched a segment on Canada that was saying it is now easier to realize the American Dream there than here and one of their conservatives said it was because they could get health care and an education without bankrupting themselves. He also said their system had problems but it was better than ours.

I finally got over the enraged stage, and now just sit back and watch him dig himself deeper on a daily basis. I think it is the Republican die hards that keep defending him; wouldn't possibly say they had made a mistake in voting for him. That is only my experience. I do like some of the Republican policies - namely smaller government and cutting the handouts ( I know this will make diehard Democrats mad and I am sorry.) It is just my opinion and nothing more. I have learned that anti-Trumpers are not going to change pro-Trumpers minds, so it is useless to argue about it. But, I am proud of those whom march and continue to show up.

The Watergate still exists. . . found you from Ellen's blog.

Sigh. I am watching in horror from this side of the world. He is encouraging some of our own politicians.

donna baker said...

Well, thank you for the info Meri. Glad you stopped by.

Oh no. I feared other leaders were going to take a page out of his playbook. Lets just hope that there are more educated voters that will say no.

I think you should use them yourself.Tell your members of congress we need an independent investigation into Russia's influence in the election. The secondary school system is being gutted, as we speak. Etcetcetc

It is unfathomable Joanne. The list is too long as you say. I still want to see his taxes. I want to know what's in it for him with Russia. Why he would associate with Steve Bannon? EPA reversing the laws that protect our citizens and earth while all these things just line the pockets of the bad guys. He is crazy and that so many fell for his lies.... BTW - OK's politicians are all republicans and I have written to them. Scott Pruitt, from OK has taken money from oil and gas for years and wants to dismantle the EPA. James Inhoff, the old Senator and main climate denier, is from OK. He has literally lined his pocket with oil and gas money his entire long career in DC; he took more PAC money than all the others. As I said, all I can hope for is that Donald will shoot himself in the foot, hopefully sooner rather than later.

Love what you found. And, yep, they'd 'grow legs' if you put them out at your booth.

I have several of each, and it's all just a dream, Bea.

Husband and daughter in law? So he can split families as well as nations. Oh well, for better or worse, in sickness and in health, etc.

donna baker said...

Yes, they believed all his lies and didn't want Hillary to win.

I write to him all the time via twitter. mostly what I say to him is what a liar he is or point out his hypocrisy.

donna baker said...

Good Ellen. Hope we can all nip at his heels in hopes that since this job is "beneath him", maybe he will just grab all his toys and leave. I think the lies are what are most shocking about him.

I'm proud of the marchers too.
Everyone has their own views on good government, that's what makes our world go round:)
You are certainly right about anti and pro Trumpers not changing their minds:)
My two bigs are affordable healthcare and education. In the past folks could get by with a high school degree. That's very difficult today. I'd like to see two year degrees included under free tuition. I feel that would be fair without bankrupting the system and more realistic on both sides of the fence.
Okay, dismounting from my hobby horse now. Thanks for bearing with me:)

On the beach in FL..couples voted differently also..

I am watching from afar.

Sorry to even bring it up, but this is beyond the pale. He is a lunatic. Not fit to be a local councilman; not to denigrate councilmen, as that is a tough job. Can't please anyone.

donna baker said...

It would be funny Sandra if it wasn't so sad, not to mention dangerous.

If you want to expel some of you anger, despair or hate whatever ....sign up for " Daily Action"
It will tell you something everyday to do from action to your congressman.
Personally I didn't vote for Trump but I did not vote for Hillary either, very long story. There comes a time to not spend every waking moment in anger and hate. I have to not watch the news and get on with my life and just do what I can (Daily Action) that is the easiest for me right now.

Have reprints of really old postcards that I send out for fun and friends love them. Old is good !
cheers, parsnip

I really wouldn't even have adequate words... in fact, I can only tolerate watching the news and exposing myself to all the Negative Energy for small periods before I need a break! I want to keep updated... and yet, it's such a shitshow that I can't even believe what plays out daily now! How Cool that you just have some of that bit of 'History'... may it not repeat itself! I'm still in disbelief that the narcissistic egomaniac was ever elected. How could so many people believe his lies? Just waiting for him to implode!

donna baker said...

Hope you and The Ham are having a good spring Gayle.

donna baker said...

It is depressing Dawn. Too much to deal with.

donna baker said...

Me too. I hope the "fake news" is what takes him down.

YOU have a great Thursday:)

Thank you Sandra.

One does wonder what will happen next, it is a worry! I was reading in one of our newspapers that the Senators were getting a hard time when they attended local meetings and this is having some impact on their views and support. Is this the case? Sarah x

donna baker said...

Yes, Sarah and even some of the politicians aren't having meetings so their constituents can't rant at them. Our government is in such turmoil it is frightening. i can only hope for impeachment before too much damage is done.

I start laughing whenever Trump is on tv as I cannot believe that he is to be taken seriously. Then I stop, still shocked that people consider him fit to lead.

donna baker said...

Us that abhor him, are still in shock that he won. His daily screw ups and lying would be funny if North Korea and Russia and all the cheating scandals weren't so dangerous.
