Sorry

I just can't help myself.

Tom got me thinking today about the heroic French policeman that gave his life to protect others.
An honorable man.

It matters not whether Republican nor Democrat.

Why is the most disgusting, embarrassing, moronic excuse for a man still in office?

Right with you Donna.
Donna do not be sorry. You can say whatever you want it is you blog.
Twice a year I blow my top on my blog I try not to get too political but....... I say how the pie in the sky ideas really work down here on earth in a border city. Not good.

If I could be weird and awful here. . .
I thought Trump would have been impeached or even shot by the liberal fraction already.

The Democrat Party (my party) saddled us with Hillary by the underhanded tactics of the DNC and it minions so that no choice was given. They paved the road for her by the scorched earth method. Bernie was the only one who stood up against them.
I could not vote for Trump or Hillary so I voted for Bernie. First time I ever told anyone who I voted for.
Impeachment could work as nothing is being done right now in Washington. We can only hope !

cheers, parsnip

Donna - American politics seems such a long way away from us but all I can say is that of all the 'friends' I blog with in the US I think every single one is a Democrat. I suppose we have to say that we believe in Democracy and have to stand by it - but I can understand that for many in the US it is hard.

Gayle, I am sorry because I know everyone is sick of hearing about him and his antics each and every day. I know there are those that love him. That is why I am sorry to add to the mess. It is just beyond me that he does things on a daily basis that would have gotten other presidents impeached. He is such a bad example for our children. We've taught them lessons - that good will prevail, that a liar makes for a bad person and on and on and on. I just can't believe that there hasn't been more of an outcry; that everyone just tiptoes around or whispers about all he does but nothing happens. We are left with a fake president - a danger to us all. It is just so sad.

I yearn for a democratic republic, Pat. Politics have become so ugly over here. No civility; extremism and winning at all costs are the norm. That is how we ended up with this man. So many men in his party would have been good as president. It is just beyond me. My hope is that the younger generation can clean politics up - put the country before a political party.

Why? Because there is still rampant bigotry, racism and misogyny in this country. Because fear propels stupidity. Because our democracy is controlled by corporations and super paks. Because sadly we allowed it to happen. I am almost more afraid of Pence. The 2018 midterms and 2020 election are vital to remaining free and and saving the planet. If every citizen who feels the way we do would take action by calling writing and donating to causes we can turn it around. I polled a handful of my friends who complain a lot about the state of affairs and asked them about their actions and donations. Dead silence. Nothing. I'm sure I angered and embarrassed them but seriously? Driving in $50,000 cars and living in 3,000-5,000 sq feet and yet not grateful enough for their blessings to help raise up others and protect the world. If dogs or cats were to go extinct next week like Sudan the last male northern rhino there would be an uprising. We spend more on pet food and accouterments than we do on education, feeding the hungry and housing the poor.
That phrase Make America Great Again? To them that means going back to segregation and no women's rights, no birth control, where a man can beat or rape his wife and not be charged, no due process for folks of color and certainly no religious or individual freedoms of sexual identity or choice. Improve America, Raise America Make America a true democracy!!! Now that I can get behind. Yeah it's hard not to rant - I've been quiet over a month on my blog lol

Well said dear. You can't save the world, but do what you can. And yes, I too am scared of a Pence presidency.

Weaver, I am a registered Democrat but I vote an open ticket. I vote for whoever I think is the best person. Republican or Democrat

Sometimes you just have to say how you feel. Stress held in is bad for health.

From the other side of the world Trump (and Pence) scares me. And sadly the Trumpster's success encourages some of our home-grown selfish nut jobs.

this country is done. it's going to be a long hard road for my grandchildren's generation picking up the pieces and putting it all back together. even if dems do sweep the mid-terms, Trump may have us at war with Iran or NK before then.

Yes Child, it is like a cancer spreading around the globe. It doesn't just affect the US. We are all in serious trouble with a man like him in charge.

Never in all my 59 years have I had such a deep fear for our country. I feel such dismay for the hatred that has been unleashed and encouraged by drumpf. What the #&@% is going on here and how can people still support this. Democracy is at stake and a dictator is at the helm.

I was speaking to a few young people in my Japanese class--all POCs--they try to keep a calm head, think about voting in upcoming elections & acknowledge that our road to recovery, if you will, may be long and hard.

Listening to them made me feel slightly less stressed about the state of the nation.

Ry @ Sotto Il Monte Vineyards said...

All of the above! I could not have said it better!

donna baker said...

I know exactly what you mean Ry. So much more could be said. I long to hear just one person say they were wrong - sorry for voting for the con man. Yet, all I hear make excuses for him saying he just needs to be given a chance. How many chances does he deserve? Thousands? Books will be written. The emperor has no clothes in the end. I always remember Alexander Pope's ESSAY ON MAN. He writes that we are all part of the chain, whereby one part is broken, the whole will fall. I hope 'this too shall pass' as we can't hold on too long.

donna baker said...

That's good Bea. I'm glad it helped. I hope someone in the powers that be will step forward and say enough.

I think we should put him on the other side of that damn wall he wants to build, see how long he lasts over there.

It wouldn't be long. He has insulted our neighbors to the north and south and everywhere except Russia. Why there isn't more of an outcry about the Russian State interference is beyond me. Besides Trump, therein lies the real danger. Who would have ever thought a new cold war in our lifetime. Trump's policies have set us back decades.
