It's Only Money

STILL HAVING COMMENT PROBLEMS!  Read more bloggers having trouble too.  It is frustrating because we can't interact with our friends.

Now, I sold these on eBay after one day.  A famous natural history museum bought them.  I didn't charge enough.

These are Osage feather wedding plumes from the turn of the 20th century.  They were worn by  women in 3's or 6's in a black top hat.  They also wore a long black woolen coat with tails.  Sorry, but  I wouldn't like the look for my wedding day.  I've just shipped them off and am a little sorry I didn't have them appraised first.  It's only money, huh?

Well we do our best. They are very pretty but like you not my taste. Having them gone and not packed somewhere in another box is a win for you.
Hope your/our blogger problems get fixed soon.

Greed is still niggling at me Gayle. I'll get over it. I think that they have been stored in an old trunk and then in my cabinet for more than 25 years has kept them vibrant and in good condition. They are 17" long and thus, 6 of them were hard to display with my collection. I did put a note in with them saying that after 100 years, they should be displayed. I am so tired of this comment thing. Months. I have to prove to captcha 20 times that I am not a robot and that is if the blog accepts anonymous comments. I keep waiting for blogger to fix it.

Not to my taste either. I prefer plumes on the birds.
Sigh on blogger issues. They are not to my taste either.

Wow, I can't imagine wearing those. I don't like to think of people taking birds feathers to make gaudy stuff like that. Never any use wondering if you asked enough on eBay so you are right not to worry about it. Sometimes I have put things on and they've run the entire period without a single bid. Then, relist - and bang, someone wants it immediately.

It is so frustrating Child. And it has been months. I am a big bird lover and prefer them left on the birds though I have collected ones from Birdie and on the ground. I posted once on how the Victorians almost decimated bird populations wearing their feathers on their hats etc.

Hey Jenny, loved your recent post. I have to let them go and be glad they are in a museum.

So long since I've sold on EBay. I did sell items I had no idea the value, but the people who wanted to buy certainly did. I'll never forget my first "Will you consider ending the auction early? I'll be out of town the day it ends and so want this for my collection, blablabla." This was back in the day of dial up and hitting refresh to see what was going on.

I sell on three sites Joanne. Always trying to make a buck. One site has the craziest buyers. You wouldn't believe the stories if I told you.

They have some really beautiful ones out now Ellen. Love your posts, but can't comment on any.

Wow. They are beautiful and look so contemporary somehow.

Happy Thanksgiving, Bea x

They have been kept away from light etc. for nearly 100 years. Great condition. I think you can still google them and how they were worn in the past.

Hard to always tell what price to put on them. I thought they were feather dusters at first. LOL

There are two kinds of remorse...Seller's remorse and Buyer's!We usually experience one or the other during our lifetimes☺️It's only money you are right👍🏻If it's a huge amount..that' remorse can last a bit longer...

They do kind of look like it.

Yes, right now I think the selling hurts worse. I've never seen anything to compare them to, so....
