The Paradise

Sumptuous interiors lit by gas lamps and candlelight, exquisite clothing and wonderful acting...  what more could you want.  I've been waiting for Emile Zola's The Paradise to arrive stateside and the first installment did not fail in meeting my expectations.  British period pieces and foreign films with subtitles, PBS, well I am one happy camper. This will hold me over until Downton Abbey returns next year.

  1. YES. So Say I, as well.

Don't know how I stumbled in, as I was shopping for chandeliers, but here I am, and just can't drink in fast enough---all the wonderful Lovelies you share.

Also cannot find a FOLLOW spot, but I've subscribed to the posts, as well as putting you on my sidebar so as not to miss a thing in this rich panoply of such unrelated things and art and places that it's going to take a while to look my eyes full.

My original blog title was to be "Gatherings," as that was the title of a little book of jottings I'd had printed just for family and friends, but the word was taken (I've become fast friends with the lady in Dothan, AL, whose title it rightfully is) and so I settled for LAWN TEA---a lovely concept of green and gracious, (and also a word for those great tea-bags of manure which make the vats of fertilizer---quite apropos in some aspects, as well).

I look forward to returning for more of your delightful sharing.
