EGGS

When I was small, I had a thing for bird's nests and their little eggs. Curious wild child that I was, I roamed the countryside, climbing into treetops as far as the tree limbs would allow me. Why was I so enamored of eggs? I don't know. As you can see, I still am. Clockwise from left, an ostrich egg, an emu, goose, chicken, banty chicken, quail, and in my sculpted hand, three little eggs I found on the ground and don't know the breed. I also collect nests I find here and there, but only after they have been abandoned.

  1. What a great egg collection, I love it! Your hand sculpture is really cool. I have a few abandoned nests that I have collected.
    Sunny :)

  2. I love decorating with eggs - it's such a natural organic touch to bring inside the home!

By the way, you left a comment asking about the weather in Paris in October on my blog and I wanted to get back to you with an answer!
In fact, you can see a bit what Paris October weather is like by what we're wearing in the pictures on that particular blog post! They were all taken last October at Chatou/Ham Fair! Can be warmish (70's), can be cool (50's) and usually includes some rain at some point. We were lucky last year and it didn't rain once when we were touring at the Ham Fair! Would love to see you in October - remember I offer Girls Trips discounts (email toma(at)antiquesdiva.com if you want a break-down) so gather your amies and lets shop!

The October dates wont be available until March, but I can email you and let you know them as soon as I've got them on my calendar!

  3. Oh the power of childhood interests. They run through our lives don't they?

I enjoy visiting your blog so much.

I would love to visit the Ozarks.

  4. Hi Donna
    I said... a left-wing policy govern for 20 years.
We will have a right-wing politician of president simce 11th march of this year.
    All in democracy.

We did have 17 years of dictatorship (1973- 1989)
    But now we are fine.

    Greetings from Santiago de Chile.

  5. Girl, we would've been fast friends as kids, you and I are alot alike. I knew every inch of my hood from the top of a tree, dragged in turtle shells and snakeskins, to my Mother's grief, played under the shrubs and was always an Indian on a silver white mare...ahhhh, those were the days...and my feet finally became clean...sorta!

However, I do miss my birds...my X and I raised many waterfowl and all the upland game birds, but my faves were my pair of peafowl, Regis and Kathie Lee...what a pair!

Someday when my windfall comes in, I'll have them again...they are such comfort and joy to this country girls heart! Have fun planting them bulbs, I'd get frost bite here using a pick-axe to dig out the ground...LOL!
