Sometimes, don't you wish we would wear hats more? Not baseball caps or sun hats, but millinery hats, the kind people used to wear to church or on a stroll about town. This hat was made in New York City. Probably, the velvet flowers too. It is a tightly woven fine straw of some kind so I think it was a spring or summer hat. I know around here, the cowboys wear straw cowboy hats in the summer. This one looks like something Pollyanna would wear. It was certainly a different time back then.....

My daughter looks wonderful in hats. Me? I look like Icky Twerp!

YES! I LOVE proper hats. Whenever I look at vintage photos, I always examine the hats that men and women used to wear.
I just wear baseball caps because it keeps the sun off my face.
But I would much rather wear something a bit more stylish...
At the department stores I always try on all the hats (men AND women's).
From another era, definitely. It's interesting, the images and feelings it evokes though. Almost a wistfulness.
I love old hats and so wish they looked good on me and I could wear them!
I wear giant gardening wicker hats all of the time, but they hardly count.
What a lovely little hat there. The best part about that hat is, some woman took it to nice and important places. I wonder what it's seen...
That's one thing I notice more about English ladies, they wear hats !
Look around at a wedding...young and old alike wearing hats, all differnt shapes and sizes, flowers and all.
You are considered missing a piece of your wardrobe, if it is not completed with a lovely hat, especially at weddings, christenings, funerals.
Your hat is beautiful, I can visualize it being worn on Sunday for church, with a lovely crisp, cotton paisley dress.
I love hats too. I, like you, wish we could go back to wearing hats all the time and Lord knows, it's hot enough here to do it~
Blessings, Star
Very cute hat. I would love to wear hats, I have a hard time finding them to fit. My head is too big! The little house in the photo look cute.
