Parisians love their dogs. You see them out and about with them everywhere. Once, I traveled from Paris to London and there was not a dog in sight. Now I know Londoners love dogs. I asked someone where the dogs were and was told it is too stressful in London for dogs.

I have a new SHlH TZU doggie. I have named him Alfie. I lost my little yorkie Julie in Ike. She was 14 years old.

It surprised me to learn that many in France when they take their month long vacation abandon their pets to the street or to shelters. It shocked me especially knowing their national reverence to them. It really becomes a problem apparently in shelters. These fellows are precious. the little long haired dachsie. pgt
The dogs all looked well-fed and loved.
There may not be many dogs on the streets of London, but travel a few miles out, and they are in most every home.
My gran used to take her dogs on holiday with her, no leaving behind in kennels :)

But nobody loves their dogs like Americans! When I do outside art shows, half the pleasure is in watching the dogs drag their people around. I see dog breeds that I never knew existed!
I forgot to send my condolences for your peacock, dastardly COYOTES. We don't have them, only foxes and raccoons, so my peacocks are fairly safe... I think. Otherwise, it would be time for the shotgun... nobody messes with my peaocks and gets away with it.
As a dog lover I love the way the French love their dogs, they are everywhere. I love the country too.
