Still having withdrawals from the best show ever - BREAKING BAD. I am not going to get over that it is over for some time. Be that as it may, another show that I like is returning this Sunday - GAME OF THRONES. I do hope it helps me get over the fact that Breaking Bad is no more.
I haven't read the books, but my favorite character so far is Brienne of Tarth. She is noble, tough and I am not sure why she is my favorite character. Just hope they don't kill her off like everyone else.
Here she is last season fighting a bear bare handed. Her tormentors put her in this dress as she's usually in a full suit of armor; would never be clothed thusly.
CALL THE MIDWIFE is back too, along with some of my other shows. For someone who used to never watch television except for PBS, I sure am watching a lot these days; my kids know not to call during Mom's programs.

Briene's staunch loyalty and heroic heart make her my favorite character, as well. I posted her very high on a list of characters-I'd-want-on-my-side on LAWN TEA recently:

I didn't watch much of Breaking Bad, but Caro's enthusiasm for it was contagious, and I did enjoy the GUS story arc---wasn't FACE OFF absolutely compelling? EMMYs to all in that one. And I watched the last ten or so of the series---little Holly White saying "Mama--Mama" absolutely reduced me to a melty lump. She couldn't have been a year old, and they couldn't have scripted it better. That was the moment of the whole series for me.
(And I secretly want Briene to join up with Danerys, imprint with one of the dragons, and swoop out of the sky with the trio in a fiery destruction of White Walkers. Are you listening, Mr. Martin? It would work).
Dear Heavens. I need a hobby.

Where have I been? Never heard of either of these two shows. Hope you are enjoying them though. I watch Antiques Road Show, American Pickers and even Pawn Stars. They are entertaining. Take care and have a lovely week-end.
I've watched several seasons of GOT from Netflix but got rather bored and quit and from what I understand I MISSED the best cliffhanger. RATS. May have to rent it again. I loved it up until then. I love Peter Dinklage! and Briene's character too.
I couldn't get to breaking bad-but my brother who winters here could not agree with you more. I do share an addiction to game of thrones. my favorite character is arya-she's the reason I am hanging on to my hbo script til the season ends. my brother has read the books-and there is apparently quite a stir about the next installment-they seem to be keeping true to them according to him. You might find it interesting that she is quite the style maven- and her partner is the fabulous fashion designer Giles Deacon.
I was a BB watcher also..
And GOT..thanks goodness Jacques knows how to PVR.. he did that.
Watched CTM..that is my most favorite I think.
Mr Selfridge..DA..
The quality of PBS is outstanding.
I think all the birthing moments that grab at my heartstrings and the aura of the late 50's etc..makes me want to see an episode a night..
Some Netflix series we have enjoyed too.
Our parents would cringe at what's on TV today..Remember Mary Tyler Moore and Dick van Dyke in twin beds?
