Found another old fountain of a wee one riding on a dolphin. I just love these types of things though they seem to be getting heavier and heavier. This one just makes me smile.
As the summer wanes, I long to be outside again; it has been too hot, until tomorrow. So, I will try and get my housework done today so I can enjoy my gardens.
And forget not that the earth
delights to feel your bare feet

I love old yard statues - did you buy it? Would love to see it in action with the water cascading out! We have a lion's head spout (as well as two frogs which we have yet to hook up to a water supply..)

Yes dear Amanda, I have them all over the place. Couldn't have enough water hookups to use them all as they are meant to be. What I'd really like are the two caryatids in that newly unearthed Greek tomb.
Jo, I will have to take a picture of the truck. My husband had two old trucks brought back to their original conditions which was ridiculous because they just sit under the barn. I kind of liked them old looking.

Yvonne, glad you dropped by. Anywhere is south of you I see, but I am not far enough south to let my lemons overwinter outside. My husband is hurrying to finish my greenhouse after it collapsed last winter. I will have to move all my tropical fruit trees inside soon. You could even grow a Meyer lemon in a sunny window during winter. They smell wonderful and you could gather the fruit by November. Logee's out of Connecticut sells the most wonderful citrus plants and others too. I got carried away and finally had to have a greenhouse to keep them warm. If you'll scroll way down the right side of my blog, you see about me. We have things in common.

Oh Donna, I love this statue. The joy that a garden brings to us (even a statue!) tells me that nature is part of who we are, and calls us.
The summer has left, but there is more ahead. It's so ironic that this season is one of the shortest and winter one of the longest (for us in Minnesota, at least!)

Statues are the best of garden bones! This one is a treat, for sure. One thing I love about stone statuary is how wonderful it looks in the winter with snow atop the surface.... well, maybe you don't get snow? Nevertheless, statues look great in the garden all year long.

Yes Jeri, we do get snow. Monique, we have two old trucks that my husband had brought back to original condition, but truth be known, I liked them better before. I painted the old suitcases and I call this picture, 'I'm runnin' away'. Don't know why blogger is not sending my updates, but I can rarely figure any of this out.
