The temperature got down to 40 degrees this morning. It has been so hot this fall. I found these pumpkins at the market. What will the growers think up next?
Halloween and the trick or treaters can't be too far off.
From the ghoulies and ghosties
and long leggedy beasties
and things that go bump in the night.
Good Lord deliver us!

Love that set of gourds - the lumpier and bumpier the better :))
Oh I really screwed up. I purchased gazillions of seeds for these wickedly odd type pumpkins and gourds, and never even planted them this year. Nothing says Autumn like funny, fat gourds!
And on your post below:"To kill a Mockingbird" is a movie I will always love. It feels to me like an Autumn movie, as is the scene with Scout walking home, "stuck" in her costume, and having her first encounter with Boo, unknowingly. Love that movie and I love this song, it brings back memories of Sunday School and is hauntingly beautiful with much meaning to myself and many others.
Oh,, Just read your turtle post. I love this guy! We once had an enormous snapping turtle crossing our lawn and heading for the road. I had to SAVE him from what could have been a ghastly fate and tried to pick him up with a large shovel. He grabbed the edge of the shovel with that treacherous mouth and just held on tight, would not let go. So I just carried him into the woods like that, set he and the shovel under a tree and left. I came back later for my shovel, and he was long gone. Who knows what mischief he got up to later, he was so big!
Jeri, your garden is so pretty, I don't know where you'd grow all the pumpkins and gourds. I grew them on a fence once and they did wonderfully. The gourds did anyway. Actually on cattle panels which can hold quite a lot of weight. It is hard to find places to put the pumpkins but I am saving seeds from them to plant next year. I love that song too. I try to save all the animals too. Even the mean ones.
Amanda, every time I try to comment on your blog they come back to my email as undeliverable. Do you receive them? It happens on some other blogs I follow too. Don't know why.
Dear Donna - those pumpkins do look like a rare breed - especially that green one on the left! (LOL) - Hope you are having a great October!
