A Good Book

I finally found one.  I really enjoyed reading this book.  I'll be haunting the aisles of Barnes and Noble this week with a list to see if I can find another good read.  My track record has been abysmal as of late: too many of the books I selected made me want my money back.

I enjoyed that book. Doerr's earlier collection of short stories THE SHELL COLLECTOR is also good. Before Christmas I read THE BONE CLOCKS with relish. David Mitchell is a fine writer. His BLACK SWAN GREEN is splendid.

I have that in my stack of books to read. My husband read it and loved it. Since our move and the holidays - just haven't had the time.

Donna - I will have to check this book out when I get a chance. Sometimes it is difficult to find something good to read. Wish I could go to Barnes and Noble with you. Love to spend time there. Have a super day. Hugs

I was so intrigued I had to look this up. Characters who are masters of locks and fixing old radios sound like a winning combo to me. When I was a child we had a young French girl named Marie Laure live with us for a time and I've not heard the name since.

Its like the movies, you see many movies and then one hits you like "this is how movies have to be made"
Its the same with books.

It's during WWII Amanda and I just found it so well written.

I finished it Monique. I hope you will enjoy it. Not too heavy. I just liked it, I can't explain why so much.

Elaine, now I am getting a little worried. Reading is sort of like perfume; what some like, others might have to hold their noses. I hope you like it. I've read several recently that sound like wonderful books, only to have been disappointed in them.

So true Haddock.

A most provocative title, Donna! I hope it's worth the money spent! ENJOY! And, thank you for visiting me. I will not be deleting my blog, I will still be in Blogland, and I do NOT do FB. But I need to spend my time seriously writing in my private life. However, blogging has been the best thing for me. It gave me wings. Now, I just need to use them, but when you have wings, you must fly and try them out in high places, at least once for the thrill, to just see what happens.

Go and fly my friend. Anita
