I promised this year I would not complain about old man winter. I could go on and on about it negatively, but what is one to do except move to Hawaii. There is an inch of ice on the ground and now, more inches of snow on top of it. So, I'll say something nice about it.
I do so love birds. They are eating me out of house and home this winter. I feed them sunflower hearts as there is no mess leftover nor uneaten seeds. At one point, I counted 20 cardinals on my little apple tree. It was a beautiful sight. They would not cooperate for a photo though so I had to shoot what I could with my phone. One can't be too stealthy with birds and I'm not going outside to get a good shot. The males are all challenging each other while the females wait patiently for the orioles and chickadees to drop food from the feeders. What else is there to do on a day like this? It's definitely a day for bird watching.

Aww, lucky you Donna, our birds virtually disappeared when the ice hit, but yesterday the field was full of Robins.
I simply love Cardinals, such pretty creatures.
Stay off the ice....we've had people falling everywhere.
Hugs,

Like a treeful of lush, tropical flowers against the snow.

I've heard about your ice storm. I just got back from feeding the animals at the barn and I've never been so cold. I came in and got in the shower and my hands were burning like fire from being so cold. At least it's on the ground and not in the trees.
The birds are beautiful! They are lucky to have you to feed them. :-)
I would love to spot a sight as this one!
I get one..once in a while..Never enough red touches in winter~
AH DONNA - GREAT PHOTO - COULD BE HERE AT MY HOUSE AS WELL. LIKE YOU I AM REALLY GOING THROUGH ABOUT 50 POUNDS ABOUT EVERY WEEK. TAKE CARE - SPRING IS ALMOST HERE!
It is really expensive but one of life's pleasures for me. Hope your wrist isn't hurting too bad. I've been walking on ice for days now and almost took a fall the other day. We just don't roll with it like we did when we were younger. I remember the first time I realized I was getting older. Where I would normally just leap off the porch and not walk down the steps, I stopped and thought I could not do that anymore.
What a beautiful capture my dear!
Wow!!! Those are incredible!!! We have great weather but nothing so colorful in the trees!
