Or perhaps that should be in with the new old. As I mentioned in the aforementioned comments, much of what I had doesn't go with the new house. I did buy this old French desk and cane back chair to go in my new bedroom. I had to paint the chair and will have to recover the seat. My iPhone is old and I could not get the pics nor the lighting right.
I did have the lamps already with, of course, birds on the lampshades.
This is a close up of the desk, though how in the world the pic ended up here I can't say. Could not get it to center. It is a pretty desk though with raised relief and paintings and curved drawers and sides.
And I did find this old tray at the farm, tucked away in a cabinet. It has cardinals (like on the lampshade) painted on silk. Very old and nice to be able to finally use it. As I clean out closets and cabinets for Goodwill, who knows what all I'll find?

Loveeee:)
There is such a spring in your step now..a bigger one..I love that too.
Beautiful desk, so much character and perfect for your bedroom.
It's all coming together so nicely.

You certainly have some lovely old things Donna the desk is gorgeous and looks lovely in the window.
You have pieces of charm. No mass produced rubbish, but things of beauty. Love that you are finding ways to display and use them.
Love the tray, and the window vignette would keep me looking for hours.
Oh Monique, thank you. It is fun to decorate the new house. Haven't put anything on the walls yet, but will get there. Starting to feel like home.
Yes Jo, it will get there. I have wanted a desk in my bedroom and happened upon it one day while I wasn't looking for it.
I have already used it while ticking off Christmas lists. I'm sure it will be of use. I love old things so I am trying to juxtapose the old with the new.
Thank you Child. It has been difficult since lots of my old stuff looks out of place in the new house. I'll figure it out.
I love the tray too and glad I rooted it out. I have quite a few trays and will have to winnow them out or else store them in a closet. I'm a magpie.
It is always exciting unearthing things you had forgotten about. Who knows what treasures you might find.
Your new look is very refreshing. As a fellow bird-lover I envy those lampshades....a lot. How lovely it will be for you to sit at that French desk and write, read or simply contemplate the winding stream. Perhaps some bird feeders are in order, just outside that window.
A beautiful desk, and view to go with.
A few things I've come across, I can't remember where they came from.
I've put one up and the birds have yet to come to eat. It is frustrating. I moved it a little farther and I'll see if they are coming. I love watching the birds at the feeder.
Thank you Michelle. I had thought I'd like a desk to go there and then just happened upon the desk. The shop owner said it had only been there a couple of days so I am glad I found it.
What a lovely view..And like you did..there was a lot of..out of the old and in with the new stuff going on in my cottage..still doing it..Completely different atmosphere..:)
Lots of views across the whole back of house onto Silver Lake. It is just amazing to me how little that I have at the farm goes with the decor at the new house. Whole different vibe. I simply have too much stuff.
