This time of year, in the state where I live, it's miserable outside. Here I am. Just kidding. Buzzy is feeling it too. 100 degrees in the shade turns me into a wet noodle. Drains all strength. I guess that is why they take siestas in Mexico. If you don't get out when the sun comes up, you'll have to wait until midnight to do anything outside, then fight the mosquitos.
Of one thing I am sure. Henry James didn't come from Oklahoma.

Love that pic!
It wasn't quite as hot when I took this picture of Buzzy. Otherwise, he loves to veg out there.
Thank you Sandra. He love that perch, but would burn up at this point.
Heat turns me into a sad, soggy (and grumpy) mess. I turn into a troll and only come out at night.
Stay as cool as you can.
Love that picture. How I would love to be able to relax as a cat does (and be as supple).
Unfortunately, each summer is the same. It leaves me wishing to move to the southern CA coast where it is 70 degrees during the day and blue skies year round. Perfect weather for me. It would also be too expensive for me, but I can dream. It is Buzzy's favorite 'hangout'.
Cats have are all expression. I call that "copping a hang." We're too hot, too, but not so much as you.
Buzzy's drape has such grace. We get all cranky here when we have several days with temps over 90 degrees. I cannot imagine a steady diet. I admire your strength in being able to adjust to it.
Today is on the mild side, low 80s, but that is going to change tomorrow. Today will be a "get it done" sort of day. Tomorrow I will emulate Buzzy.
xo
I hear it is coming that way though Joanne, so better rest inside for a change.
That's what I heard this morning Frances. It is coming your way. I hope you have air conditioning as it seems that places not used to such high temps don't have it. My daughter just returned from a trip to CO. She rented an AirBB and it didn't have air-conditioning (unbeknownst to her) as it is usually cold at night there. They had to go rent a hotel room. Stay cool.
my daughter and grands had to go rent a hotel room.
That last line must have been heat related :)
Love that pic:)
102F but in the sun..that would be me hanging up my garlic and making jam and pesto..oh lala!
Do I pick my days or what...
Have a good day regardless!
Love the pic - the cat looks like I feel. We are having a warm and humid spell here too.
Happy Thursday, Donna;)
Such a great shot. Apparently Buzzy doesn't realize his paw is about to be chomped on by a T Rex! :))
Is that 102 at your house?
Pat I have heard that. Unusual in your part of the world. I've already run my errands and am back in for the rest of the day.
And to you also Sandra. Hope you're not as hot where you live.
Don't know why he likes that spot but it has his name on it.
Love love love the photo !
Ice tea and a porch with a fan time.
cheers, parsnip
Hello Donna,
That is a tad too hot! I understand when you say you must get out early before sunrise and get chores accomplished. Enjoy your weekend and we hope for gentle breezes
Helenxx
Oh Helen, so nice to hear from you. ow are you doing? You enjoy your weekend too.
It's very hot here in the UK too, we just aren't used to it here - hot, humid, sticky, sweaty - unable to sleep , I know just how your cat feels - for some reason I thought you lived in Virginia - not sure what the Henry James reference meant?
I have heard about the UK heatwave. Henry James is oft quoted about the phrase that there are no sweeter words than summer afternoon or something like that. That's how I know he couldn't have lived here. Had to be Rhode Island near the ocean or somewhere like that.
Donna I am feeling pretty sluggish myself. Maybe I should join Buzzy. Stay cool friend.
THAT is a grrrrreat photo!!!!
And even England's Henry James would have a hard time of it, these days. With his purrfect "summer afternoon's"... Because they are also sweltering, in the UK.
My husband says; "Just remember the long, cold winters." ,-)
But when the heat/humidity have me having trouble breathing, it's hard to do.
It's the perfect excuse for doing nothing though...
