I know I shouldn't covet things, but I love this house.
I've fallen in love with modern houses. I've always loved those Palm Springs mid-century modern ones, but there aren't that many around. Nowadays, they are building new modern ones.
My pictures are terrible, but when you walk in the front door, you see right through to the back of the house. This stone counter is so long. Sink and cooktop, plus seating and under the counter dishwasher drawers, freezer drawers and refrigerated drawers. I didn't download these in the right order so humor me.
Halfway down the house is a gorgeous outdoor seating area. I don't know how I missed the potted trees to the side. That wall of water is turned off for the winter, but spectacular when on. All these doors slide open.
I love floating staircases. And as you can see, the walls are covered in the most fabulous stone.
It is polished just on the one side. I love it. It's everywhere.
This is looking back toward the front door with three more rooms off to the right. The doorbell is funny. When you push it, you can hear large dogs barking. Very clever.
One of the great things about this house is all of the built in cabinets. Hidden refrigerator and freezer. Upstairs, which I haven't shown, has all white built in cabinets. I die.

This is out the back doors. A pool was going in, but the pool men never got to it, so it was cancelled. Loss for the pool company.
But wait, here comes another of my favorites. I die for this dining room table. It is huge and I love the style. Very modern base and look. Notice the chandelier? It is BIG. I just love it.
I just had to include this old movie poster, which is the largest one I have ever seen.
So here is that fabulous chandelier. It is a show stopper.
This is a smaller version (still large) in the master bedroom closet. Sigh. And, I haven't shown you the master bedroom and the upstairs rooms which are beautiful.
I told my friend when she bought this house, that when I die, I want to go to her house and not to worry if she hears me knocking around. Well, I'll have to find another place to go.
After three years, she has decided to sell it.

Downsizing or upsizing? This house looks plenty big. There seem to be grandchildren involved.
AWWWW---Now they DO say that opposites attract, and you are very dear, so my admiration for that house is sound, based on the clean clear lines and absolutely neutral everything. But I could NOT wake up to such spare flat open air every day, for I used to look at the immovable concrete sofas and tables in the Wright houses and feel the chill in my bones. The marble and the iron, and I'd NEVER find the fridge in all those anonymous doors, let alone the flour or spoons.
No. Love the idea and honor your love for it, but so much bone and no softness, no colour, no curves---not for me. Well, we HAD to differ on SOMETHING, didn't we?

Thank you Gayle. Less is more; I never really could ascribe to that until I got older and am trying to sell all my stuff. I love the Philip Johnson house and like I said, the more modern and glass, the more I like it. Have to have the views and light.
It is very large, the same size upstairs as down. She has her first grand baby boy. She is over the moon with him. I would upsize to that house, but she is downsizing.
Well we did Rachel. I didn't know Wright had those immovable sofas and tables. I can't stand that. I've seen those built in Mexico. My city house is all whites, cream and pinkish beiges. I have always wanted an all white house; soothes the beast. I'll show you some pics sometimes. I need light and sunny skies. It is why I bought the city house. The entire back of the house is windows. I do like to see other colors too, but only in the magazines.
I do Love Visiting Homes so very different from any I've ever lived in... for it's genre this is a Lovely one for the Minimalist side of ourselves. I think as I age I'm appreciating that genre more and more. *winks* I suppose you could always still Secretly Haunt this Lovely Home and I do Hope the new Buyers appreciate it as you do. Dawn... I do too Dawn. I am still a nester and like my things. But, I do love this too. My friend is very good at decorating and this is a new design for her too.
I understand Pat. I like many different styles. I've always said I need several different houses.
It is actually very warm and comforting. I just didn't show the living area and fireplace and other areas. Upstairs there are all wood floors which warms it up. It is just a dream for me.
I was a realtor for 28 yrs..and have seen it all(really)..although I can appreciate modernism..it's not for me at all:(

I can see why you're so taken with it. Although, I've hit the stage I prefer everything on one floor.
This is a nice home.. I love to see it.. but it is not my kind.. :).. I alway love a little cozy home with personal touch..:) :) ..

That is my problem too Sandra. With a knee replacement and a back and hip problem, I wouldn't want to climb stairs on a daily basis.
I wish I could have one built with all the things I want in a house. Don't know if I have it in me.

The house that you show us here is so elegant and beautifully designed...and yet, I could not possibily be comfortable living in such a place. Its surfaces are just too smooth and its spaces are just too open. I rather stay in my little apartment nest. xo
I love it, as I said.
I don't know why I like wide open spaces, as in the song. Those tiny homes that are all the rage - I'd last about a New York minute in one. Everything neat and orderly with all the cabinets and room is something I crave as I've gotten older. I should have shown more pictures. An artist and sculpture owned the house previously and left some really neat built in art, etc.

I agree 1st Man. Bathrooms to die for, balconies, neat built in art pieces and bedrooms. Each room perfect. Did I mention the fencing?
