I usually keep these silver bowls filled with candy treats for the grandkids. I really shouldn't as I end up eating it too.
I can't wait to see their faces when they see these little dried anchovies from Myanmar. What in the world would they do with them? Snacks? Fish sauce? Paste? Actually the last two would be good, but I'm not popping one in my mouth.
PS ~ the weenies can smell them and love to snack on them. I wouldn't have bet on it.

I had a good laugh when I saw those fish!
I use to eat the tiny dried Japanese shrimp !
cheers, parsnip
Forgot I love your new page set-up.
My daughter and I did too. She took me to a tiny oriental grocery and we bought a few things.
Thank you Gaye Were they fishy tasting? Like concentrated. I'm a landlubber. Love some kinds of fish and of course shellfish, but not too adventuresome though I do love sushi.
Tickled that they love to snack on them. Braver than I am.
Soup, they make the basic flavor for soup. The first I saw them I was at awe what one might do.
I'd eat them if I was hungry enough. but I'd have to be pretty hungry.
That's only the weenies Child. The grands wouldn't touch them.
I like fish sauce in some dishes and anchovy paste in puttanesca. But, I'm not eating them like a chip.
Me too Ellen.
Made me laugh! What a tease and fun Nonna you are🙃
Hope they get to see them this weekend when they look for the candy bowls. Sure glad the weenies like them.
Hahahahaha!!!! You are funny Donna - would love to see their faces after being presented with the bowl of dried anchovies ;))
Now, THAT would be Chris' idea of a candy-dish! I haven't had pizza in about five years, because he LOVES them, and I haven't the heart to tell him that the little stinkers ruin MY half in that little hot-case for the trip from the shop. In a faint hope, I've got several tins and jars of them hanging around, in hopes that I might someday apply them after arrival.
The teensy pastels are beautiful---I've got about a dozen jars of the Gucci M&M things shaped like pastel pearls, just haven't got the spot on the counter ready (worthy) for such an elegant display.
I can't wait Amanda. Unfortunately, I had to buy a big bag of them, but I'll keep feeding them to the weenies and toss some in the lake to see what comes for supper.
When in Paris, I was so sick of ham that we went to a pizza place. I thought what the heck, I'll order an anchovy pizza and pick the few off if I don't like them. Well, after the first bite I died. Instead of tomato sauce, they used a thick anchovy paste. I gave my sister a bite and she died too and she loves smoked oysters and sardines. Nevertheless, that pizza wasn't eaten.
At least perhaps one wouldn't have to worry about getting cavities from eating the fish.
That's a good thing.
Oh Nonna:) That is funny..wonder what my Littles would do:)
Poking out of a beautiful cupcake of yours. That would be priceless.
I would definitely try at least a few of those tiny fish...
xo
Well I am impressed Frances. Not me. I don't like fishy.
