It is lily time at the city house. I don't know what these are, but they are HUGE. At least 9 inches across. So pretty. Flowers are amazing.
Perfect for this small porcelain wise man. Though I don't think you can see it, there were droplets of honeydew inside the flower. I tasted it. Sweet. Wonder what lily ice cream would taste like.
This tiny colander is full of pearl sized tomatoes. Those cookie cutters are the child-sized ones. I waited for two years to find these teensy tomato seeds. A burst of flavor.
When I was a child, I would have died with all the miniature things they have today. Smalls just enchant me. Happy days...

Love your lilium. Is it scented? If so, it comes from the Oriental lilium family. Unscented? Asiatic.
That pollen stains though. Big time.
Me, Too, Sister-Girl!! I cannot resist anything else to gee-gaw up this tee-ninecy pink kitchen in my pass-through. (Above which, in the place of honor, hangs my beloved notebox).
Thhe lilies are exquisite, and I Guar-ron-tee that if anybody's gonna make and test that ice cream, it will probably be you (remembering that clover---golly gosh, there it is, right THERE as I'm typing!)
And the smalls which make you happy delight me so much, as well. just the intricacies of making those wee things look like their larger selves, whether for children or display or authenticity or just children-at-heart---I'm fer 'em alll.
I have a new pink Fairy Door on the pass-through, as well, backed up to a 6x6 square post. If you back off, you can see absolutely that it's their elevator, whizzing them from attic to basement when no one's looking. The fact that two fuzzy yellow 1940's Easter chicks stand sentry like Foo-dogs only adds to the charm.
Be well, my faraway friend. If you could see my house, you wouldn't eat my cookin'---well on second though, the aroma of lasagna from upstairs is mighty enticing---close your eyes.
We are absolutely flooded downstairs---drove through the RAIN equivalent of a blizzard for a long way this am and came home to find great pools in the basement shining even above the carpet.

Oh no. From the tropical storm? I had attic ac units leaking last week and dripping through the sheetrock in the kitchen. My dock lights I worked so hard on didn't come on last night so I have to track that down to see why and I came home with an armload of critter killers. The moles are tearing up the front yard and gophers in the back. I've already had to climb back in my goldfish pond and put in more hardware cloth. Aye yay yay! It's always something, isn't it? I can smell the lasagna now.

I'm at the city house most of the time now. I just love it. I can go anywhere I want even if I stay home and nest. I went to the farm this past weekend and it had been nearly three months. Going back for the Fourth. It pretty much depends on if I need to go to the vet or doctor and/or pick up a load of antiques for my booth. Hubby prefers the farm. It's a new day and age.
I've already forgotten what catalog I ordered from, but have a few seeds left in the packet somewhere. Little man usually rests in a amethyst crystal cave.
The flowers are so beautiful. I love the one bloomin the glass so elegant.

I remember smelling mine and getting pollen on my face before heading to the store.wish I had seen it before others. LOL
My whole kitchen smelled wonderful from that one lily. Yes, they want that gopher so bad. It's in places they can't get to or I'd have large holes all over the yard.
Did the same thing and daughter got it under her fingernails when she rubbed it off on the way to dinner. She couldn't get if out from her nails either.
I love the fragrant lilies. they fill the house with their scent. I don't have any though. well, white easter lilies but they have all gone by now.
I have to buy them in bulb form to grow any others. The gardens barely have a square inch to plant anything which is a nice problem to have.
Lilies are one of my favourite flowers because of the beautiful smell - wish the blog was smelliblog.
Yes, always remove the pollen-coated stamens from lilies - they will drop on your table lines, clothing etc. and often it's impossible to remove the stains!
I used to have a lot but think voles have eaten most of the bulbs. . . . . . little pests those
subterranean creatures! My favorites were always 'Stargazer' but loving these yellow ones too.
Love that tomatoes are coming in now - my neighbor says I can help myself to his (also peppers, cukes and onions) whilst he's away for a couple of weeks - while I'm cat sitting his big furry baby, Nala! Good deal don't you think?

What delights, masses lilies and tiny tomatoes to pop in your mouth! I grow 'red cherry' but they are still at the free beetles are a bright scarlet colour they're easily found and dispatched!
Don't know what happened to my comment - it got mangled! I wrote that my tomatoes are still at the green stage and that I love white lilies best and so do the lily beetles.

I admit to being a fan of miniatures for a long, long time, even if I do not actually have many around my apartment. I guess the scale of my apartment is too miniature! xo

I just love homegrown tomatoes. Nothing better than a little Malden sea salt; sometimes that's a meal for me.
Ha. I even like green tomatoes Rosemary, though not as juicy as the ripe ones. Yes, even fried green tomatoes are a favorite, though I don't make them much. I've got to get olive oil in my diet before I lose that last brain cell, so maybe start drizzling over tomatoes. I have so many pretty lilies and don't know what any are but the Tiger lilies.

Oh I agree Donna - miniature things are just down right enchanting. As for those lilies they are fabulous. Wondering if they are fragrant? The oriental and trumpet are as a rule but these look more Asiatic. They generally do not have a fragrance. Well enjoy your mini tomatoes and your huge blossoms. Hugs!
They smell wonderful Debbie. I have many different varieties but can only identify the tiger lilies.
Oh, man. Those lilies are amazing. Tiny tomatoes are fun to eat, but if I don't close my mouth right away...splat! Tomato seeds everywhere!
