Old Recipes



More recipes.  They do get better and more interesting.  The parties in the country weren't a big affair. Farmers are too tired to party.

Hmm. I would like to try some of those. I always think of the Deep South and Mint Juleps.

A mint julep would be too highbrow for the area where these came from Tom. More hillbilly than the deep south. But hey, hillbillies are fine, just would use moonshine.

Oh Joanne, there are some great recipes in this book so keep looking. And you are right, the gatherings would have included family and friends. Not parties, but get togethers.

Like the previous commentator I am part farmer. Parties sound like torture to me...

I like some wines - sweet - but reds give me a headache and I wouldn't know a good wine from vinegar. Well, maybe. I do drink a frozen margarita about 3 times a year. I just never think about drinking alcohol.

As one who has suffered from anxiety disorders my whole life, I'm the one in the corner, quietly watching. I try not to go if I can get out of it.
