I love looking through UK magazines. Recently, I found the wall paper I want to put up in my powder room. It has only taken me three years. My problem? I have looked high and low for this pattern, which reminds me of a trip to Italy. I must be missing something as I cannot find it. Have any of you seen this hillside pattern in your publications?
I love the English language are rarely come across words I haven't seen before. This one caught my eye. Have you seen it in your readings before?

The wallpaper looks like Osborne and Little Portovenere to me. Try googling it.
OMG, thank you. I will go google it now. I can't tell you how long I looked for the maker or name of the pattern. Went to the credits and still couldn't find anything. Yay!
I'm unfamiliar with both the wallpaper and word, but I like both. :)
Thank you Bea. Rachel nailed it in just a few minutes. I spent hours on the website and thumbing through magazines looking for any info and could not find it.
Rachel, I don't know how you did it so fast, but that is the one I want. I spent hours on the website and looking back at magazines looking for it and could find nothing. I would put in pink hillside apartments and on and on with zero results.
Are you aware the Oxford concise eliminated 200 words. Cassette player, gone forever.
It is a well known view for us over here so quite easy for me to locate the wallpaper. Glad to be of assistance.
No Joanne, I never knew they eliminated words. I guess I'd believe words from different centuries, but gone forever?
Love the wallpaper and am glad a knowledgeable reader has helped you track it down.
And this word nerd is grateful for a new one. And cassette player remains in my vocabularly. Gone but not forgotten.
So is the P silent? and OMG love that wallpaper- glad you found it. I can imagine that feeling that thrill that runs thru your being when you finally had it located. Almost an "o" if you follow me. hehe
Wallpaper is lovely but the word is not as pretty as what it is. I must look it up word and origin it is quite like butterfly in German Schmetterling, A word I quite like when talking to stubborn Scotties.
cheers, parsnip and badger
I don't believe I've ever heard or read that word. so glad you found the wallpaper!
I agree Child. We'll remember them and cursive writing too.
Now I need to see how I can order it. I emailed them because it says not available in the US. Wonder why?
You are right Gayle. It doesn't sound as beautiful as what it represents. Needs a new name.
Me too. I had a feeling someone out there in the UK would know better than me. Now, I have to find out if I can get it in the US.
Psithurism (a word not recognised by my American spell-checker) is having a silent P in the woods.
Re the wall-paper, it aggravated so many cases of mental illness here that the Health Authority banned it for sale in this country.
It is perfect for my little powder room which is now my worst color - burgundy. I had decided to use the Beverly Hills palm fronds wall paper, but liked this much better.
Donna this wallpaper is great. It does make me think of Italy. As for that new word -never seen it before. Very interesting word. Hope you have a super day. Thanks too for your visit. Hugs!
Thank you Deb. My house is cream upon cream - I always wanted that and finally have it. The wallpaper in the little powder room will be a great color pop. I just hope I can get it.
