My husband told my children the time has come to put me in a home. He thinks I am certifiable; was aghast at this purchase. I didn't write it. I told him rabbit fur, llama, sheep and on an on... Now, I don't agree with him and thought this was a splendid idea when I ordered this book. What could be sweeter than having a tangible memory of your beloved pet?
A felting needle and felting block were all I had to buy. There are the cutest crafts in this book. I just wish my weenies hair was longer than an eyelash.
And, just because, I smile every time I pass this large bag filled with middle daughter's birthday gifts. I wish I had a monkey.

This post made me chuckle Donna...love that monkey bag too. Happy Birthday to your girl!
Your pond shot in the last post looks lovely. I've often wished we had a pond too...one with a little bit of water noise. But then I think of all the digging and the work involved and after redoing our patio, I think I'm done with major jobs in the yard for now. :)
"I wish Cotton was a monkey. I wish YOU was a monkey, Cotton."
One of the memorable quotes from that Sage of the Ages, Spanky McFarland. Lotsa dusty little kids sitting out by a curb, whiling away the day, wishing for things. I think they segued into liking cake, as well, and one tiny fellow misspoke, and I know then left it in because it was so cute: " I LIKE CLAKE."
A lady used to come now and then and gently, pettingly "pluck" our several angora rabbits and make soft, cuddly stuffed toys from it. And a hat. I remember a hat, and thinking there went Sherlop and Poirot and Marple, out and about, with no danger of traffic.
Ha HA I like the sound of that book . I could use pny hair we get tons of it when they shed in the Spring. I bet you could use Gracies hair :)
A good friend's dog just passed away and she kept a lock of his fur, so this idea may appeal to a lot of folks. If I keep a lock of my almost 17 year old Airedale, I'm not sure I'd do a craft with it, but maybe just paste it into a scrapbook...
You are unique..and that's what makes you INTERESTING!
There are horse hair crafts too:)
What did you offer MD?:)I know ..I am so Kurios.:)
Actually, most of the gifts were small. I am sending both daughters and grandbabies to Disney World in October and I've told them all that the trip is going to be their birthday and Christmas gifts. So much more expensive now than it used to be. I do plan on using some of Gracie's hair and some of the crafts were so cute. They had scarves, hats, badges (my favorite). Can't wait to start.
Amanda, my own Sister is diabetic now and I am terribly upset about it. I've said they are my life and I really do mean it. I just wish they had more (longer) hair to make something with.
You wouldn't believe the cute items in it that you can make. I am going to use some of Gracie's hair. Everyone with hair should watch out. These little picture badges embroidered with the pet's name are to die for.
I did think about the Cotton was a monkey line, Rachel. I grew up on the Little Rascals.
Oh the pond. It was tremendous work but I have enjoyed it. Used to have filters and waterfall which stopped up all the time. When we quit using all the filter stuff, the fish and pond do just fine.
My daughters are hoping to go too.One family in Nov..the other March..
I think they would love to be treated to it..What a nice nana you are!
I love to needle felt and never thought of cat hair, but why not?! I've a large bag of our dogs hair, i will try that first.
